BBC Three announced on October 1st 2015 that a new Doctor Who spin-off was in development called Class. Class is set in contemporary London, one of the key links with Doctor Who is Coal Hill School which appeared in the first Doctor Who episode in 1963, more recently Clara a former companion of the Doctor became a teacher there.
