The TARDIS arrives in December 1986 at a South Pole Space Tracking station where the crew are trying to safely land a manned space capsule that has got into difficulty.
The Doctor realises that the gravitational pull of another planet entering the solar system is causing the problem. Soon after the planet appears a group of Cybermen land near the base.
The Cybermen explain that their home planet Mondas is draining energy from Earth and that they want to take the humans back to Mondas for conversion into further members of their race
Eventually Mondas disintegrates from absorbing too much energy. The Cybermen left on Earth collapse and die as they rely on the energy from Mondas.
The Doctor, Jamie, Polly and Ben arrive on the moon in 2070AD where the moonbases weather control stations crew have come under attack from a black-veined virus. The bases medic was the first person to be contaminated by the virus so only the Doctor can help find the cause.
The Cybermen created the virus to control the humans. The Doctor and the moonbase crew soon overpower the first wave of Cybermen by using the fire extinguishers to shoot a ‘cocktail’ of chemicals that cause harm to the Cybermen eventually killing them.
The Doctor uses the moonbases Gravitron to send the remaining Cybermen back into space.
The Doctor, Jamie and Victoria arrive on the planet Telos. A privately funded archaeological expedition, led by Professor Parry is attempting to uncover the long lost tombs of the Cybermen.
The Doctor decides that he must stay and help, but most importantly to make sure the Cybermen don’t get disturbed.
It is revealed that the people that funded the project, Klieg and Kaftan plan to revive the Cybermen. They want to use their strength and power to create an invincible force for conquest.
When the Cyber Controller is awakened he states that the Tomb is a trap, only to find humans suitable for conversion into further Cybermen.
The trapped Cybemen send Cybermats to the surface attempting to overpower the humans, but they fail. The Doctor eventually manages to reseal the tombs. The Cyber Controller appeared to be killed by the electricity on the tomb doors trying to escape.
The Doctor and Jamie land on a space ship that appears deserted apart from a Servo-Robot. The Doctor gets injured but Jamie manages to overpower the robot and then signals a nearby space station for help.
Two pods containing Cybermats are discharged from the space ship, the pods attached themselves to the space station. The Cybermats were sent to pave the way for the penetration of the station by Cybermen.
The Doctor and Jamie soon discover that the space ship was driven of course by the Cybermen and that they planned to use the space stations direct radio link to Earth as a beacon for their invasion fleet.
The TARDIS materialises in England in the 1970s. The TARDIS crew meet up with Isobel whose uncle, Professor Watkins, has recently gone missing. The Doctor offers to help search for him.
Professor Watkins worked at the world’s major supplier of electronic equipment, International Electromatics. The Doctor suspects that IE’s managing director, Tobias Vaughn may be behind the disappearance.
The Doctor and Jamie get abducted and taken to a military base which turns out to be a U.N.I.T base under the command of an old friend, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. The Brigadier is also investigating disappearances at International Electromatics.
The Doctor discovers that Vaughn has teamed up with the Cybermen in a plan to invade the Earth. He also learns that Vaughn also plans to double cross the Cybermen by using a machine created by Professor Watkins. The machine will generate emotional impulses that can be used as a weapon against the Cybermen.
The Cybermen send a hypnotic signal that immobilises most of Earth’s population. The Doctor manages to protect himself and his friends against the signal, with the help of Vaughn and U.N.I.T they manage to defeat the Cyber threat.
The Doctor, Sarah and Harry return to Nerva at a different point in time to their earlier visits. They soon discover that most of Nerva’s crew have been killed by a plague.
Nerva now acts as a space beacon, warning space traffic of a new asteroid orbiting Jupiter. The planet turns out to be Voga, a planet containing large amounts of gold.
The Doctor recognises the name Voga and realises the Cybermen are involved with spreading the plague.
A civilian scientist named Kellman is secretly working for the Cybermen. They plan to use the remaining humans to carry bombs into the heart of Voga. The Doctor explains that the reason the Cybermen fear Voga is because of the gold, as a non-corrodible substance it can affect their breathing apparatus.
Kellman is working as a double agent hoping to lure the Cybermen onto the beacon so that the Vogans can launch a missile to destroy them. The Doctor however manages to persuade them to redirect the missile so that it misses the beacon and collides with the Cyber ship.
A military force on Earth in the 26th century is investigating the disappearance of a group of palaeontologists. The Doctor and his friends soon become suspects. It transpires that two androids controlled by the Cybermen killed the palaeontologists. The Doctor manages to deactivate a bomb that the androids were protecting. The Cybermen had planned to use the bomb to destroy an imminent peace conference.
The Doctor traces the bombs signal to a nearby freighter where an army of Cybermen are hiding. The Cybermen have a backup plan to take the freighter and collide it with Earth, their plan however is foiled as the freighter travels back in time some 65 million years ago causing only an established point in history – the destruction of the dinosaurs.
Five of the Doctors incantations are taken out of time by a forbidden time scoop. They are taken to the Death Zone on Gallifrey. President Borusa operated the time scoop hoping the Doctors would breach the defences to Rassilon’s tomb so that he could enter the Dark Tower and claim immortality.
The Cybermen and many other monsters were in the Death Zone.
The Doctor and Peri arrive in London 1985 to answer a distress signal set up by Lytton, a known alien criminal.
The Cybermen capture The Doctor, Peri and Lytton and use the TARDIS to travel to Telos in the future. It is revealed that the Cybermen have captured a time ship and hope to change history by saving Mondas.
The Doctor later learns that Lytton is a double agent working for the Cryons, a species native to Telos. The Doctor manages to kill to the Cyber Controller and help come up with a plan to destroy the Cyber tombs and the time ship with the help of the Cryons.
The Doctor and Ace arrive in England 1988 where they discover three rival factions, the Cybermen, a group of Nazis and a 17th Century sorceress named Lady Peinforte are attempting to gain control of a statue created by Rassilon as the ultimate defence for Gallifrey.
To work the statue needs a bow, an arrow and the statue itself. The Doctor launched the statue into space in 1638 to make sure they remained separated. The Doctor knew that the statue would crash back to Earth in 1988 where he had laid a trap into making the Cybermen think that they had gained control. When the statue was launched back into space it disobeyed the Cyber Leaders commands and instead wiped out the Cyber fleet.
The Doctor, Rose and Mickey are trapped on a parallel Earth where the world seems more technologically advanced.
A powerful man named John Lumic is head of Cybus Industries, he has created a new race of Cybermen hoping to upgrade the human race.
The Doctor learns that each Cyberman contains a inhibitor signal to prevent their human side from taking over. With the help of Mickey, the Doctor manages to break the signal sending the Cybermen into despair.
The Doctor and Rose arrive back on present day Earth where they discover ghostly figures are freely wondering everywhere.
Without knowing, Torchwood is slowly widening a rift between our world and another. The rift was originally caused by a sphere that Torchwood are holding, the Doctor states that the sphere is a void ship that can travel outside of time and space.
When the rift is opened wide enough the ghosts are revealed to be Cybermen, the Cyber Leader states that they followed the void ship but it has nothing to do with them.
When the void ship opens, 4 Daleks fly out of it. With the Daleks and Cybermen fighting amongst themselves, the Doctor manages to come up with a plan to reopen the rift sending the Daleks and Cybermen back into the void.
Using Dalek technology a group of Cybermen manage to break through the void and arrive on Earth in 1851.
The Doctor meets another man that thinks he’s the Doctor. The real Doctor thinks he’s a future regeneration and needs to work out why he can’t remember him. When the real Doctor discovers that the Cybermen are at work in 1851 he thinks the two things may be connected.
The Doctor sees that the next Doctors fob watch is engraved with the initials JL which is the final proof that the next Doctor is a man called Jackson Lake, a mathematics teacher. He was the first person to come into contact with the Cybermen. To defend himself he grabbed an info stamp containing information about the Doctor. The info stamp destroyed the Cyberman but also backfired and overwhelmed Lake’s mind.
Miss Hartigan was working for the Cybermen helping them capture people to be upgraded. Once her work was finished the Cyber Leader forced her to be upgraded into the Cyber King.
The Cybermen form an alliance with many of the Doctors other enemies after discovering that the TARDIS will eventually explode causing the destruction of the universe.
Beneath Stonehenge the alliance has devised a plot to capture the Doctor so that he can no longer control the TARDIS.
A cyberman was left to guard Stonehenge and the Pandorica, waiting for the Doctor.
The Twelfth Cyber Legion were monitoring an area of space near Demons Run. As a warning part of the fleet was destroyed by the Doctor as he continued his search for Amy.
A Cyberman spaceship had crash landed on Earth many centuries earlier with only a few survivors.
Cybermats used electricity from a store that had recently been build to power the Cyber spaceship.
