The TARDIS arrives on a planet where a race known only as the Aliens have gathered soldiers from a number of different wars in Earth’s history, brainwashed them and put them to battle. Their aim is to form an invincible army from the survivors and use this to take over the galaxy.

The Doctor is captured by the War Chief, who belongs to the same race of people, and offers an alliance.
The rebels seize control of the aliens' HQ but the Doctor is forced to send a call for help to his own people.
After a sad farewell to Jamie and Zoe, the Doctor is put on trial by the Time Lords for breaking their ancient laws.
