The Master returned briefly in the 1976 Tom Baker story “The Deadly assassin”, Portrayed as a hideously disfigured creature played by Peter Pratt. Once again the Tissue Compression Eliminator was seen in use.
The Master returned as a regular villain in the 1981 Tom Baker story “The keeper of traken”, played by Geoffrey Beevers, still disfigured and having run out of regenerations he hides out in the mysterious Melkur, eventually taking over Professor Tremas ( an anagram of Master, once again disguising his return) and thus introducing Anthony Ainley to the role as The Master.
