The Cybermen that Lumic had created forced him to go ahead with the upgrade sooner than he had hoped for. Once the upgrade had completed Professor Lumic became the Cyber Controller.

Professor Lumic the Cyber Controller

Professor Lumic was incharge of Cybus Industries. He was paralyzed and dependent on his ventilator, he had created a Cyberman prototype hoping that one day he would be able to transform himself into a Cyberman that would make him near enough invincible.
